Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Towson, MD seeks a Nurse Educator to design, implement, and evaluate nursing education curriculums, lead in-service programs, and mentor clinical staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, regulatory compliance, and ongoing professional development within a multidisciplinary team.

You will teach courses, update training materials, and promote critical thinking while supporting staff growth and improved patient outcomes through structured curricula.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education or Nursing.
  • MSN with education focus is preferred.
  • 2 years of experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting, 1 year must be in a psychiatric setting.
  • Must possess current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland at the time of appointment and continuously while in position.
  • Will be required to obtain and maintain certification in CPR and CPI; must complete training to be a super-user of Sunrise EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Design, evaluate, updating, and implementing new and current nursing education curriculum.
  • Act as advisers and role models for staff to become clinicians delivering evidence-based care.
  • Design, implement, continuously improve, and adapt curriculum and training, lesson plans, and professional development programs.
  • Teach courses and provide training to licensed and unlicensed clinical team members on new equipment, supplies, and instruments; coordinates in-service training and workshops.
  • Incorporate evidence-based research into educational plans, clinical policies, development programs, and nursing practices.
  • Provide educational leadership to care providers to enhance patient care.
  • Initiate skills development programs; monitor trends and ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory parameters.
  • Mentor nurses and staff; identify growth opportunities and educational needs for practicing clinicians.
  • Promote critical thinking among staff and commitment to lifelong learning.

General Summary

The pay range for this position is $79,975.79 minimum to $131,800.45 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
