Job summary

The Christ Hospital Health Network seeks a Professional Development Specialist (PDS), a self-directed registered nurse with advanced knowledge to educate, lead, and mentor within their clinical area.

The PDS acts as educator, change agent, researcher, and mentor, coordinating educational initiatives and evaluating outcomes across the department to advance nursing practice and patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved nursing program with RN licensure.
• BSN required; MSN in education or MEd preferred.
• Minimum five years clinical nursing experience; formal educator experience preferred.
• Knowledge of IV therapy and PICC lines is required or preferred.
• Excellent teaching, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Onboard new hires with orientation and learning needs assessment.
• Diagnose learning needs and identify educational outcomes.
• Plan, implement, and coordinate staff education and development.
• Evaluate progress and outcomes of educational initiatives.
• Provide mentorship and professional development support to staff.
