Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking a Nurse Education Coordinator to design and deliver educational programs for nursing and clinical staff. You will develop continuing education that keeps staff up‑to‑date and serve as a resource for nursing personnel.

This role coordinates classes for precepting and charge nurses, assesses course effectiveness, liaises with schools of nursing and medical assisting, and helps ensure content aligns with evidence‑based standards of care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required.
• Graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
• Five (5) years of experience in tertiary care with three (3) years clinical experience in the assigned specialty.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates classes for precepting & charge nurses, schedules courses based on identified need, identifies faculty and curriculum, and analyzes evaluation data to improve teaching.
• Supervises nursing and other clinical staff, provides guidance on professional development, and oversees program development and liaison activities with schools of nursing and medical assisting.
• Develops content for nursing/clinical documentation, ensures evidence-based standards, and collaborates with department members to address patient education needs.

Education

Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline
