UNC Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse responsible for delivering competent nursing care and coordinating patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting. The role reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and emphasizes education, care planning, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include educating patients and families, evaluating care outcomes, implementing complex care plans, and contributing to unit goals and performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina (RN).
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

• Education – Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care – Identifies expected patient outcomes and revises plan of care as needed.
• Implementation – Delivers care for patients with complex needs using nursing standards and policies.
• Leadership – Supports unit goals and professional growth, communicates effectively.
• Patient Assessment – Assesses and prioritizes patient needs and discharge planning.
• Planning – Collaborates with patient/family to plan and update care.
• Research – Keeps current with journals and discusses applicable ideas.
