Job summary

The Johns Hopkins Surgery Centers seek a Patient Experience and Policy Management Coordinator to enhance patient experience across JHSCS. You will analyze patient experience data, manage grievances, and lead policy initiatives in collaboration with leadership and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications include a Nursing degree with MD Maryland RN licensure, 5+ years of related experience, and strong data and project management skills. An academic health system background is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing and MD Maryland RN licensure at time of hire.
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a Master's or advanced degree; interdisciplinary program/project management experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data management, data modeling, and policy management.
  • Familiarity with CMS and TJC requirements; Lean and change management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to improve patient and family engagement.
  • Collect, analyze, and present patient experience data, including OAS-CAHPS results.
  • Identify trends and recommend action plans for service and process improvement.
  • Manage patient and family grievances in alignment with CMS and TJC requirements.
  • Oversee policy management and support regulatory compliance.
  • Lead or support key projects and interdisciplinary workgroups.
  • Collaborate with frontline staff to implement improvements and innovations.

The Patient Experience and Policy Management Coordinator supports patient experience improvement and policy management across all JHSCS locations. This role partners with leadership to develop goals, analyze data, manage grievances, and implement strategies that enhance the patient and family experience.

Patient Experience and Policy Management Coordinator Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in nursing.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's or other advance degree. At least two years of interdisciplinary or interdepartmental program/project management experience.
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the State of Maryland at time of hire
  • Comprehensive understanding of data management and data modeling.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet, database, presentation, and word processing software. Knowledge of HPO policy management a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of project management.
  • Familiarity with federal, state and local regulations impacting healthcare preferred
  • Change management, process improvement methods (Lean), training development, health care related customer service/patient experience methods and survey methodology. Knowledge of OCAHPS and Press Ganey survey is a plus.
  • Experience in an academic health system preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 43.61/hour - Maximum 67.59/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
