Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to coordinate and lead nursing services across our Central Region Nursing programs in Illinois. You will guide nursing staff, strengthen medical practices, and help ensure safe, coordinated care for residents in substance use treatment, primary care, and behavioral health services.

Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing; or RN with five (5) years post-licensure in a relevant nursing role.
• Experience supervising nurses and coordinating care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor nursing and medical services across residential substance use treatment, primary care, behavioral health, psychiatric care and community outreach, ensuring appropriate staffing and supervision across shifts.
• Monitor nursing personnel; recruit, train, coach, and mentor staff and interns.
• Coordinate planning, implementation, and evaluation of services consistent with applicable clinical, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
• Promote evidence-based, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed care throughout the nursing team.
• Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation, assessments, treatment plans, admission and discharge records, and quality/outcome reporting.
• Provide or coordinate direct nursing services, medication administration, health assessments, and interventions consistent with treatment plans and prescriber orders.
• Support assessment and reassessment of patients with acute physical or emotional concerns and consult prescribers when additional direction is needed.
• Strengthen coordination among prescribers, patients, laboratories, primary care providers, pharmacies, Chestnut staff, and external agencies.
• Provide or coordinate holistic health education and consultation for patients and families.
• Model professional communication, customer service, confidentiality, and effective crisis and conflict management.
