Job summary

South Dakota State Government’s Department of Human Services seeks a Nurse Consultant to validate MDS data and ensure accurate Medicaid reimbursements for long-term care facilities. You'll oversee a broad SD region, including PASRR processes and care level determinations for residents with complex needs.

The role requires SD RN licensure, strong data analysis, and regulatory knowledge, with limited travel and an emphasis on staff guidance and documentation improvement.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in South Dakota or eligible to obtain one.
• Experience with MDS validation in long-term care settings preferred.
• Familiarity with PASRR processes and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform MDS validation reviews to support Medicaid reimbursement.
• Provide oversight across central SD counties and coordinate care determinations.
• Educate LTC facility staff and assist with documentation accuracy.
• Support PASRR level of care determinations and travel as needed.
