Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing is required.
• State Licensed Registered Nurse for the state of employment is required.
• Certification in Basic CPR is required.
• At least 2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and clean work environment; report OSHA deficiencies and assist in rectifying them.
• Provide pre-attending care with comprehensive assessment and documentation.
• Perform routine nursing duties including phlebotomy, medications, vital signs, and lab specimen preparation; perform complex procedures as needed.
• Interpret and document abnormalities and take corrective actions in the medical record.
• Coordinate care by communicating with other departments and outside agencies as needed.
• Triage and prioritize incoming telephone calls using clinical assessment skills and document assessments.
• Manage urgent/emergent medical situations per organizational protocols.
• Serve as a resource for staff and physicians; delegate tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants as appropriate.
• Comply with policies and procedures; propose improvements to enhance patient experience.
• Initiate and coordinate patient education and participate in community outreach or education programs.

Education

Associate’s degree in Nursing

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

State Licensed Registered Nurse for State of employment

Certification in Basic CPR

2 years of relevant clinical experience in an acute or ambulatory care environment
