Responsibilities include pre-operative education, charting nursing history, preparing surgical items, and ongoing perioperative planning while upholding HIPAA and safety standards. A background in plastic/cosmetic surgery is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum 2–3 years RN experience, 1–2 in surgical/circulating role (plastic surgery preferred).
• RN license in the state of employment; BLS required; ACLS may be required; CNOR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care in clinic and perioperative settings.
• Explain procedures and educate patients/caregivers pre-operatively.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of health information.
• Develop individualized perioperative plans of care and monitor patient status.
• Respond to emergencies per policy and transfer as needed.

Position Summary

We are seeking a full time motivated and skilled Nurse Clinic RNto join our team. The Nurse Clinic RN is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and quality patient-centered care of patients in the clinic and perioperative setting for all patient populations; provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities

of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Act as an advocate for the patient.
• Provide consistent, age-specific, culturally competent, and ethical care.
• Maintain privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient and health information.

Clinic/Pre-surgery

• Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Educate patient and caregiver of patient at pre-operative appointment regarding wound management, nutritional management, medication management, pain and comfort management, and expected psychosocial responses. Ensure patient has appropriate caregiver to take and care for patient at home.
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients.
• Obtain all required items for surgery including clearance/labs/special order supplies.

Perioperative

• Develops an individualized perioperative plan of care
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.
• Assess patient’s perioperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’s:
  • cardiovascular system,
  • respiratory system and airway management needs,
  • neurological system,
  • hemodynamic stability,
  • pain and comfort needs, and
  • mental status.

Emergency Care

• Maintain emergency equipment and understand use of such
• Emergency management of patient as needed.
• Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol.
• Transfer care as needed.
• Maintain required competencies related to emergency care including current ACLS & BLS certification

Other

• Understand the importance of cost containment
• Understand the importance of and participate in risk management activities
• Participate in quality review and performance improvement projects.
• Participate in performance appraisal process
• Understand and comply with all HIPPA, OSHA and biohazard rules, standards, regulations and policies.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), with at least 1-2 years of experience in a surgical or circulating nurse role, preferably in a plastic surgery, dermatology, or cosmetic surgery setting.
• Experience with plastic surgery procedures, such as facelifts, breast augmentations, liposuction, and rhinoplasty is highly preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required, depending on the clinical setting.
• Certification in perioperative nursing (e.g., CNOR) may be preferred for surgical roles.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a high-pressure environments.
• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient information with discretion and professionalism.
• Empathetic and patient-focused approach, with strong bedside manners.
• Ability to educate and communicate complex information to patients and their families.
