Job summary

Henry Ford Health's Neuro ICU in Detroit seeks a Nurse Assistant to join a 16-bed unit within the Neurosciences Institute. You will work with intensivists, residents, and nursing staff to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care to neurosurgical patients.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of a CNA or Medical Assistant program, with at least one year of NA/PCT experience, or enrollment in a nursing program. BLS Heartsaver certification will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Nurse Assistant program or similar (PCT/PAT) preferred but not required.
• Medical Assistant program acceptable.
• At least 1 year of NA/PCT/PAT experience or current enrollment in nursing program.
• Foreign trained RN relocating to the United States without Michigan RN license.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Ranked as a High Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report in Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU) is a 16-bed unit dedicated to caring for patients with complex neurosurgical conditions. As part of the Henry Ford Neurosciences Institute, you'll work alongside a dynamic multidisciplinary team—intensivists, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, physical therapy, and nursing staff. Nurse Assistants are essential team members who directly impact patient outcomes and recovery.

Education/Experience :

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Must meet one of the following required criteria:
  • Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (titles for similar programs may vary; e.g., Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Patient Assistant Technician (PAT)) but perform the same job role.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program with or without experience.
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience in an NA, PCT, PAT, or similar job role.
  • May be currently enrolled in a nursing program and have successfully completed the Fundamentals of Nursing course.
  • Foreign trained and licensed RN who has relocated to the United States and does not hold a Michigan RN license

Certifications/Licensures :

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) license preferred.
• Complete BLS Heartsaver Certification during orientation.
