Job summary

Altru Health System in Devils Lake, ND is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care under a licensed nurse. The role supports admission and discharge, assists with basic cares, and helps monitor changes in patient conditions.

It requires completion of Nurse Aide certification and BLS within specified windows and English language proficiency. This 36-hour-per-week position is scheduled for straight nights, offering a competitive pay range and benefits.

Qualifications

Nurse Aide certification required within 4 months of start date.
BLS certification through American Heart Association within 90 days of start date.
English reading, writing and speaking proficiency required for effective communication.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing the plan of care reflecting patient needs across physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental and rehabilitative aspects.
Demonstrate competency in department-specific functions per standards and procedures.
Assist in patient assessment by collecting basic data, monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to the nurse.
Identify signs of changes in health status and provide information to licensed nurses for assessment.
Record and report patient pain reports promptly following standard procedures.
