Job summary

Henry Ford Health Southfield Hospital is seeking a Nurse Assistant for the Day shift. This full-time role supports RN staff by providing essential patient care, assisting in care planning, and responding to emergent situations under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program or current nursing program with Fundamentals of Nursing completed, or foreign trained and licensed RN without MI license, or Medical Assistant program with or without experience, or at least one year in a similar role.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide specific patient care duties under RN supervision.
• Assist the RN in planning and implementing patient care.
• Respond to emergent situations according to established procedures.
• Participate in continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Completion of a Nurse Assistant program (e.g., Patient Care Technician or Patient Assistant Technician) OR currently enrolled in a nursing program with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing OR foreign trained and licensed RN without a Michigan RN license OR Medical Assistant program with or without experience OR at least one year of previous experience in a similar role.
• Complete BLS Heart Saver Certification during orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
