Job summary

Corewell Health's 3 West unit at Grosse Pointe Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant Observer to support patient care on a Medical/Surgical unit, including GI and urology patients. The role involves safe patient transport, documentation in the electronic medical record, and providing constant observation as needed, under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
• American Heart Association/BLS certification required.
• Current CNA certification preferred.
• Effective communication and accurate documentation.
• Ability to work with diverse individuals.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Basic computer knowledge and EMR literacy.
• Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care per plan and unit policy under RN supervision.
• Safely transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Dispatch services and document tasks in EMR.
• Serve as an Observer for patients requiring constant observation.
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to support the unit.
