Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Lansing, MI is seeking a part-time Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient care under RN supervision in the Intensive Care Unit. You will assist with daily activities, maintain patient comfort, and ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance. Extended hours on weekends are required.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, nursing assistant training, and BLS certification. Prior direct patient care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Specialized education options include acute care nursing assistant course, long-term care nursing assistant course, EMT, medical assistant, or clinical rotation.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well‑being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Required

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Specialized education requirements, for those not meeting minimum six-month nursing assistance experience requirement, include:
• acute care nursing assistant course preferred for acute care positions or
• long term care nursing assistant course or
• completion of an emergency medical technician program or
• completion of medical assistant program or
• completion of a clinical rotation while participating an accredited nursing program.
• Direct patient care experience preferred. Prior nursing assistant experience of at least six months is required when the specialized education requirements identified above has not been met
• BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
