Job summary

McLaren Health Care’s Hospice-Petoskey unit is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to support patient-centered care. You will work under the supervision of a nurse, performing delegated patient care tasks and helping patients with daily activities to enhance comfort and well-being.

The role requires a state CNA, BLS within the first week, a high school diploma, and a valid Michigan driver’s license. Schedule is full-time, daytime hours, with a stable, patient-focused team environment.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience with a variety of patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day patient care activities under RN supervision.

• Maintains safe, clean environment and follows infection-control policies.

Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
• Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
• Performs other related job duties as requested.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid Michigan Driver's License, proof of valid auto insurance, and maintain a driving record in accordance with McLaren's corporate driving policy and eligibility guidelines
