Job summary

Trinity Health at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, seeks a Nurse Assistant for Per Diem Day shifts to provide direct patient care under RN guidance. The role supports patient needs and unit operations on a 22-bed Med/Surg unit focused on ortho and surgical patients.

You will participate in rounds, assist with feeding and specimen collection, and ensure safety and comfort for patients. CNA or clinical rotations plus BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• PA CNA registry or completed nursing program rotations or relevant experience required.
• BLS certification required; EMT experience counts.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct and indirect patient care activities following RN instructions, physician orders, policies, procedures and regulations.
• Obtain supplies from designated supply rooms to assure patient rooms are ready for patient admission and cleared when patient discharged/transferred.
• Demonstrates ability to feed patients, dysphasia precautions, and track intake/output.
• Collects specimens (urine, clean catch, Foley, stools for C-diff) as directed.
• Applies heat/cold packs, ace wraps, slings, binders and orthopedic devices as needed.
• Participates in hourly rounding and safety programs to prevent patient harm; informs patient/family on safety and assists with toileting and repositioning.
• Seeks assistance from Nurse Manager for conflict resolution when needed.
