Job summary

McLaren in Fresno, CA, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient-centered care under a Nurse supervisor in the 4 South Surgical department. You will perform day-to-day patient care activities and help maintain a safe, respectful environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, a BLS certification, and at least six months’ related experience. Weekend availability is expected; shift is Nights, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., 72 hours per two weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification from AHA/ARC or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN.
• Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Provides physical support for daily activities and personal hygiene.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and OSHA and health-care regulations.
• Maintains safe, clean environment and follows infection-control policies.
• Performs other related duties as requested.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, contributes to the delivery of patient-centered care through: Performance of selected day-to-day patient care activities. Maintenance of an environment that is functionally and aesthetically conducive to patient well-being. Demonstrates unit/area-designated competencies. Interacts with patients considering their developmental, age-specific, and cultural spiritual preferences.

Responsibilities

1. Performs specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN in effort to identify/attain treatment goals.
2. Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
3. Provides physical support for patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
4. Ensures compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
5. Maintains safe and clean working environment and protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies and protocols.
6. Performs other related job duties as requested.

Required
