Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is seeking a Nurse Apprentice for PRN day and night shifts across several departments, including General Surgery, Medical Oncology, Critical Care, Telemetry, Ortho Med/Surg and the Float Pool. The ideal candidate adapts well, pursues self-driven learning, and works well in a team.

The role includes supporting unit staff with clerical and patient service tasks, and delivering nursing care under supervision of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications

• Maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with Idaho State Board.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required at hire in all units.
• Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for all age groups (Neonate to Geriatric).

Responsibilities

• Support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
• Perform nursing care services and related non-professional services under the direction of the licensed nurse.
