Position Title: Nurse Aide Training Program Manager

Title of Immediate Supervisor: Director of Professional Practice and Educational Programming (Director of Practice)

Position Summary

The Program Manager will be responsible for program startup, implementation of the growth plan and the educational outcomes of the nurse aide-training program. Working collaboratively with the CareForce team, the manager will be responsible for the development of policies and procedures, screening and selection eligibility, and the implementation of infrastructure required for a new training program.

The manager will oversee the educational programing and be responsible the student experience and pass rates. During the initial startup, the manager will teach classes and as the program grows, will be responsible for the hiring and managerial oversight of instructors. The Program manager will be responsible for ensuring high quality instruction of all educators and will foster a positive and engaging learning environment for teachers and students.

The program manager will have responsibility for coordinating support services and will work collaboratively with the CareForce team to deliver these services. The manager will participate in the development of future grant opportunities and will adhere to requirements of existing grants. Working with the Director of Practice the manager will be responsible for meeting budget and program goals. The Training Program Manager will present and attend events/meetings as necessary to promote the growth and development of the program.

Position Responsibilities
  • Working collaboratively with the CareForce team, co -create the vision, core values and brand for the Institute.
  • Develop metrics and plan to measure quality of the curriculum and student experience in collaboration with CareForce team. Analyze data for trends and patterns and create action plan to achieve or exceed selected targets/metrics.
  • Collect and store prospective and selected student data following state and federal guidelines.
  • Remain current with board and state policy changes related to the training program. Revise policies and procedures to reflect changes and remain current.
  • Consider resources and establish wrap around service plan. Adapt and evolve as resources and opportunities exist. Evaluate effectiveness of support services; adjust as needed to maximize quality and offerings.
  • Develop policies and procedures for student handbook, continuously evaluating content and updating content as needed.
  • Develop and revise curriculum as needed to ensure high certification rates. Apply best practice teaching principles and integrate into curriculum revisions.
  • Educate and instruct nursing aide students according to curriculum. Evaluate comprehension and adjust teaching as needed.
  • Provide oversight of teaching spaces and ensure professional environment. Identify resources and environmental improvements. Participate in space planning sessions as opportunity for new space presents.
  • Participate in assigned committees. Represent HSL and CareForce with professional image.
  • Actively participate with implementation of growth plan and pipeline recruitment. Attend events; meet with external partners, future partners and/or vendors to promote the CareForce Institute, most specifically the nurse aide training program.
  • Adhere to grant requirements and provide outcome measures as required to ensure compliance.
  • Respond to necessary changes in programming based on business growth needs.
  • Hire and onboard new instructors as enrollment grows. Establish instructor competencies and evaluate teaching effectiveness.
  • Participate in budgeting process, adhere to budget and offer costs saving suggestions.
  • Attend professional conferences, local, state and national events to stay abreast of workforce development and training trends.
  • Create a safe learning environment that fosters curiosity, innovation, professionalism and a strong sense of accountability to professional practice
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelors/ Master's degree preferred
  • Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing or in process of obtaining RN license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical/management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and observational skills
  • Must be flexible and open to change
  • Commitment to excellence
Required Training
  • Successful completion of HSL orientation and competency tool.
  • Completion of annual mandatory requirements; hazard communication, infection control, fire safety and elder abuse prevention.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional prolonged standing or walking
