Job summary

Ciena Healthcare in Michigan is seeking a Nursing Assistant in Training to provide supervised resident care and support licensed staff while preparing for CNA/STNA certification. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain safety, and help document care plans in line with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of state-approved nursing assistant training program.
• Pass state competency examination within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
• Must have high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinent care, oral hygiene and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond promptly to call lights and changes in condition; report observations to licensed staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate documentation per facility procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Provide postmortem care.
• Make routine rounds on assigned residents every two hours.
• Contribute to residents’ assessment and plan of care.
• Provide nursing rehabilitation/restorative services.
