Job summary

Lakeview Manor in Michigan is seeking a Nursing Assistant in Training to provide supervised resident care and support licensed staff. You will assist with activities of daily living, maintain a safe environment, and help residents achieve individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a state approved nursing assistant training program.
• Must pass a state-approved competency exam within 120 days of employment.
• Name must be entered into the state nurse aide registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care as applicable, oral hygiene, and feeding.
• Measure and record vital signs, weight, and intake/output as directed.
• Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and lift equipment.
• Respond to call lights and report observations to licensed nursing staff.
• Support residents’ independence and dignity while ensuring safety and comfort.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation according to facility procedures.
• Make rounds on assigned residents every two hours.
• Contribute to residents’ assessment and plan of care (MDS/CAA).

The Nursing Assistant in Training provides supervised resident carein accordance withestablished policies,proceduresand regulatory standards.This role serves as apreparatorystep toward certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA),and assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), ensures a safe and comfortable environment, and supports licensed nursing staff in delivering individualized care in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility policies.

• Maintainaccurateandtimelydocumentation andin accordance withfacility procedures.
• Maintains a clean,safeand comfortable environment.
• Makeroutine rounds on each assigned resident every two hours.
• Contributes to the residents’ assessment (MDS/CAA’s) and the plan of care.

Education and/or Experience

• High School Graduate/GED

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• Must have graduated from a state approved nursing assistant training program and must pass a state approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment; name entered into state nurse aide registry.
