The role emphasizes patient stability, safety, and long‑term treatment goals in a structured residential setting. You’ll administer medications, monitor patients, and respond to crises while coordinating with prescribers and care teams.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from accredited nursing program; BSN preferred but not required.
  • Current Kansas RN license; maintain licensure and CEUs.
  • Two years psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and CPI training current.
  • Strong English communication, verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
  • Administer and monitor medications and educate patients on use and side effects.
  • Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition; crisis management as needed.
  • Communicate with prescribers on orders, refills, and updates.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams, patients, and families; support admissions/transfers.
  • Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation; uphold confidentiality and standards.
