Job summary

Koch Foods is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to provide medical care across a range of services and to support the Safety team at our Ohio facility. This role includes coordinating health services, scheduling appointments, and implementing wellness programs.

The ideal candidate holds RN or LPN licensure, COHN certification (or willingness to obtain), and has prior occupational health experience. Strong confidentiality and regulatory knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current RN or LPN license.
• COHN certification or willingness to obtain.
• Occupational health experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee health information.
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and FMLA regulations.
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical care from minor incidents to first aid/ER-level care.
• Support Safety Managers in coordinating health services.
• Maintain workers' compensation information and schedule doctor visits.
• Coordinate pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, random).
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs.
• Maintain positive relationship with local occupational health clinic.
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics training.
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Job description

• Provide medical care ranging from minor incidents to acting as a first responder.
  
• Support and assist Safety Managers in coordinating and managing health services.
  
• Maintain workers compensation information for claims, and help schedule doctor visits and transportation.
  
• Coordinate and perform pre-employment physicals and drug testing (post-offer, accident, and random).
  
• Develop and implement employee health and wellness programs such as health assessments, immunization programs, medical care, wellness education, counseling, etc.
  
• Maintain active and positive ongoing relationship with local occupational health clinic.
  
• Manage hearing conservation, heat stress, respiratory protection and ergonomics programs including development and delivery of employee training.
  
• All other relevant duties to the job.

Requirements

• Current Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.
  
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Prior occupational health experience within a similar environment preferred.
  
• Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) certification or willingness to obtain.
  
• Ability to ensure confidentiality of employee health information.
  
• Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, FMLA regulations.
  
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent utilization of office equipment and/or computers.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Exposure to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production lines.
• Possible exposure to wet and cold environment.
