Job summary

Averro is seeking a Weld Engineer in Bellevue, WA to support the Materials Development and Qualification team. You will develop weld processes and interface with suppliers to enable manufacturing of advanced reactor components for sodium cooled fast reactors.

The role covers lab testing through production process development and license-ready designs. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of related experience (MS accepted) in welding engineering, metallurgy, and high-temperature materials, with

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a B.S. degree; or 2 years with an M.S. degree.
• Degree in Materials Science/Engineering, Welding Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• Experience with weld engineering for new design and weld methods for complex components.
• Understanding of metallurgy and welding effects on high-temperature systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop weld designs, specifications, and processes for reactor components.
• Provide welding configuration, geometry and methods guidance for projects.
• Inform materials tests to validate models of weld performance and material behavior.
• Analyze test data and generate reports documenting new knowledge for reactor design.
