Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a dedicated R&D Electrical Engineer to join the Nuclear Verification Department. You will design, test, and integrate electronics and firmware for nuclear verification equipment, collaborating across mechanical, nuclear, and software teams to advance treaty verification while protecting sensitive information.

The role requires strong circuit design, embedded systems experience, and the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
• Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and test prototypes for monitoring and verification equipment.
• Design, modify, fabricate and test PCB with digital/analog circuitry.
• Develop embedded firmware for microcontrollers and FPGAs.
• Support verification and monitoring device development from concept to fielding.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to advance nuclear verification technologies.
