Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation seeks a Nuclear Traveling Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for the Carolinas region. The role supports maintenance of electrical/instrumentation systems, with travel up to 100% and requirement to obtain nuclear access.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience with Tan Delta Cable Testing, Motor Testing, or Automatic Voltage Regulator Maintenance desired.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical/instrumentation equipment and reading electrical diagrams, schematics, and one-line drawings.
• Experience using electrical/instrumentation test equipment and lock out/tag out procedures.
• Nuclear access currently held or the ability to obtain access is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation and control systems in a safe, reliable and efficient manner.
• Read and interpret I&C and Electrical drawings, work orders, and plans.
• Assist in controlling quality and productivity; communicate progress to team and leadership.
• Develop proficiency with calibration equipment and specialty tooling; maintain housekeeping and safety standards.
• Gain knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures and software programs necessary for Nuclear, Regulated and Renewable Energy tasks.
