Job summary

Naval Nuclear Laboratory seeks a Reactor Training Engineer to lead naval personnel through reactor operation training using advanced simulators. This accelerated leadership program combines hands-on plant experience with instruction, preparing sailors for service on submarines and aircraft carriers.

You will guide trainees, qualify as a nuclear plant supervisor, and continue with advanced qualifications and training.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale at time of application.
  • Leadership abilities are essential for the role.
  • Strong communication skills are required for training and instruction.
  • Ability to work a rotational shift assignment is required.

Responsibilities

  • Train Naval personnel to operate reactors and use simulators.
  • Lead sailors in a training environment to fulfill program goals.
  • Complete the 15-month initial qualification and progress to nuclear plant supervisor.
