Job summary

Southern Nuclear in Baxley, GA is launching a Senior Reactor Operator In Training program to prepare candidates for an NRC Hot License Class and future Shift Support Supervisor roles. You will undergo rigorous plant familiarization, training on reactor operation, heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamics, with medical and background screening as part of the process.

Upon successful completion and licensure, you will lead shift personnel on 12-hour rotations, coordinating safe plant

Qualifications

• At least one of: 1+ years as active reactor operator at a BWR/PWR facility or 1.5+ years at a non-comparable commercial reactor or 2+ years in a military equivalent position.
• Preferred six+ years of nuclear plant operations experience, including NRC RO or SRO license or military equivalent.
• Strong leadership and oral/written communication skills; solid analytical thinking and mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; engineering degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct operating shift personnel in the performance of plant duties after training and licensure.
• Stand watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinate operation of plant systems.
• Maintain qualifications and participate in on-call responsibilities for Emergency Response.
