Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Test Mechanic for a 3rd shift in Nuclear Test Operations. You will perform mechanical testing of nuclear components and ensure precise alignment for detectors, while acting as Safety Technician to tag out and depressurize systems for safe work.

The role requires reading mechanical diagrams, blueprints, and Test Equipment Drawings, with adherence to safety manuals and department instructions. Heavy lifting and confined-space work are expected.

Qualifications

• Read and work from mechanical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics
• 2+ years related mechanical or naval experience
• Must be available for any shift per union agreement

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical testing of nuclear components according to test procedures
• Conduct mechanical alignment and alignment checks for primary and secondary side detectors
• Serve as Safety Technician to ensure proper tagging out, isolation, and depressurization for safe work by others
