Job summary

Framatome in Lynchburg, VA is seeking an experienced engineer to join our nuclear design and analysis teams. You will perform non-standard engineering tasks, work autonomously, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to safety and quality.

Preferred candidates bring PWR/BWR core design or nuclear analysis experience, and familiarity with ANC, SCALE, CASMO, SIMULATE, Linux, and programming in FORTRAN, C/C++, or Python, plus strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and lead when needed.
• Problem identification and resolution skills.
• Self-checking and a questioning attitude.
• Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-standard engineering and varied assignments in design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, specifications, field tasks and quality issue resolution.
• Works autonomously with minimal supervision on most assignments.
• Ensures compliance with government regulations and industry/customer standards.
• Evaluates and applies technical techniques and criteria with judgement for new tasks.
• Develops knowledge of processes and customers and works on special projects as directed.
• Proposes process improvements and maintains a safety mindset.
