American Air Filter International is seeking an experienced Nuclear Solutions Engineer to join our specialized team delivering custom-engineered air filtration, ventilation, and related systems for nuclear applications worldwide.

The role requires strong mechanical and systems engineering, client-facing technical expertise, and the ability to interact with regulatory agencies such as NRC, DOE, and DOD to ensure compliance and safe operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in mechanical or nuclear engineering.
• 5+ years of nuclear industry experience.
• Ability to review technical drawings and documents.
• Experience with quotations, costing, and customer interactions.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• U.S. citizenship or ability to obtain security clearances may be required.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to projects from concept through installation and commissioning.
• Modify standard products to meet customer needs with nuclear codes/standards.
• Review customer specifications for risks and compliance.
• Provide technical support to customers, sales teams, and agents.
• Perform calculations (pressure drop, flow, structural integrity, filtration).
• Prepare quotations, costing, and technical specifications.
• Engage in meetings with clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with manufacturing partners and suppliers for nuclear-grade components.
• Troubleshoot in-service equipment and recommend improvements.
• Represent the company at industry events and regulatory discussions.
