Job summary

The Nuclear Company is seeking a Siting Engineer to own the site across its development life cycle, from screening to construction readiness. You will ensure continuity of site knowledge, align with NRC siting regulations, and produce licensing-grade documentation.

The role combines hands-on field oversight with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, geotechnical baselines, and GIS data management, with regular travel to project sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in power plant or large industrial facility siting, site characterization, or site licensing/environmental work
  • Working knowledge of 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, and 100, and NRC Regulatory Guides 7, 1.91, and 1.23
  • Hands-on experience scoping or executing field investigation programs (geotechnical, hydrological, meteorological, or seismic)
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience producing licensing-grade or investor-grade documentation
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites

Responsibilities

  • Origination Support & FEL 0 Handoff: Provide technical siting support during screening and handoff
  • Site Characterization (FEL 1–3): Scope, procure, and manage geotechnical, geological, seismological, hydrological, and ecological investigations
  • Licensing & Environmental Support: Prepare site-related portions of ESP and COL applications; support NRC engagement and RAI responses
  • Construction Transition: Translate the characterized site into construction readiness; assist with early site works and baselines
  • AI & Technology: Leverage AI tools, GIS, and NOS dashboards to track progress and data quality
