Job summary

Southern Nuclear is seeking candidates for Senior Reactor Operator In Training to support the Hatch/NRC license process. The role will lead operations staff through familiarization, training on reactor operation, heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermodynamics, and include annual medical and fitness-for-duty requirements.

Upon successful completion of the Hot License Class and NRC Operating License, the SRO-IT will assume duties as a Shift Support Supervisor, directing rotating shift personnel in

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership, preferably at the supervisor level or above, along with excellent oral and written skills.
• Solid analytical thinking and strong mechanical aptitude a must.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare candidates for NRC Hot License Class and plant familiarization.
• Direct operating shift personnel in the performance of plant duties after licensing.
• Stand watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinate operation of plant systems.
• Maintain qualification as a member of the plant Fire Brigade and participate in training.
