Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory seeks Nuclear Scientists to push the boundaries of nuclear energy research and develop next-generation reactor systems. You will apply advanced nuclear engineering principles to design, validate and document complex systems that meet stringent safety and regulatory requirements.

You will perform integrated analyses supporting storage, disposal and facility safety objectives, defend approaches in reviews, and refine physics-based models for experimental and programmatic

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in physics, chemistry or mathematics within the last 12 months from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated experience in theoretical nuclear modeling.
  • Exposure to nuclear reactor systems and safety analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Apply advanced nuclear engineering design principles and concepts.
  • Develop and validate designs with best practices.
  • Document designs to meet requirements and standards.
  • Perform integrated analyses for storage, disposal, and facility safety.
  • Defend analytical methods in reviews.
  • Develop physics-based models and analysis methods.
  • Prepare reports and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Represent programs at conferences.
  • Participate in professional development activities.
