Idaho National Laboratory seeks Nuclear Scientists to advance the future of nuclear energy through innovative research and the development of nextgeneration reactor systems. In this role, you will apply advanced nuclear engineering principles, theories, and design methodologies to develop, validate, and document complex engineering designs that meet rigorous technical, regulatory, and safety requirements.
You will perform integrated analyses that support storage, disposal, and facility safety objectives, and you will defend analytical approaches and results during formal reviews. The role includes developing and refining physics-based mathematical models and analysis methods to support experimental and programmatic needs.
As part of INL's scientific community, you will prepare high-quality technical reports and peer-reviewed publications, represent programs through technical presentations and conference participation, and contribute to ongoing professional development activities that strengthen the laboratory's research capabilities.
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required. The pay range for this position is $83,964 - $90,948. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
