Job summary

SCT seeks Engineer/Physical Scientist candidates for DOE/NNSA NA-11 programs in the Washington, DC area. Positions may be junior or senior, with responsibilities spanning technical reviews, program management, and cross-institution collaboration.

Candidates must hold an Advanced STEM degree and a US security clearance; travel is required. SCT offers opportunities to influence stockpile stewardship and experimental science across national labs and industry partners.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, physics, or a closely related field.
• At least five years of relevant experience at NNSA, a national lab, or equivalent.
• Active U.S. Government security clearance with full T5 background investigation.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and scientific expertise to NA-11 research, development, testing and evaluation programs.
• Serve as a technical advisor or program management specialist for planning, execution and evaluation of projects.
• Review proposals, data sheets, and plans for technical sufficiency, feasibility and cost effectiveness.
• Evaluate ongoing programs for viability, progress, deliverables, and risks across the Nuclear Security Enterprise.
• Prepare technical reports, white papers, and briefing materials for decision-makers.
• Coordinate with Federal PMs, national labs, and academic partners on technical reviews.
