Job summary

Amentum seeks a Nuclear Safety Engineer Supervisor to lead the Nuclear Safety Engineering team from either the Aiken, SC or Richland, WA area, coordinating with project managers and discipline engineers to meet scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with state laws, developing DSAs/TSRs, and mentoring staff while advancing technical capabilities and pursuing required training and certifications. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and 6+ years of relevant work experience.
• MS/MA in engineering or equivalent technical discipline and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• 2+ years in supervisory role.
• Intermediate level of knowledge within a specific discipline and an understanding of other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the discipline's engineering with other disciplines.
• Maintain records and documents pertaining to the discipline.
• Ensure engineering documents comply with state laws/regulations including registered engineer seal when required.
• Assign preparers and checkers for discipline specifications and coordinate review of external specifications.
• Establish schedules and budgets to meet project requirements and obtain approval.
• Maintain technical coordination to ensure adherence to codes, regulations and sound engineering practices.
• Direct the preparation and submit periodic reports on discipline status.
• Mentor and supervise staff; performance management and promotions.
• Lead manpower and cost estimation for a project and monitor budget impact.
