Job summary

ENERCON is seeking a Safety Analysis Engineer to support licensing, design basis, and operability analyses for commercial nuclear facilities. The role involves radiological, thermal-hydraulic, chemical, and environmental assessments across plants and systems.

Responsibilities include licensing support, technical modeling with GOTHIC/RELAP/RETRAN/MAAP, shielding analysis, and environmental impact assessments, with opportunities for client interaction and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant engineering field (Nuclear/Mechanical/Chemical).
• Minimum 3+ years safety analysis experience in a nuclear environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to plant sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safety & Licensing Support: prepare calculations, evaluations, licensing docs, and responses for license amendments and NRC questions.
• Technical Analysis & Modeling: develop computer models using thermal-hydraulic codes (GOTHIC, RELAP, RETRAN, MAAP).
• Radiological & Shielding Analysis: perform shielding and radiological evaluations for environmental qualification and spent fuel scenarios.
• Fuel & Criticality Assessment: analyze core design, reload, and spent fuel.
• Environmental & Impact Assessment: conduct atmospheric dispersion and plume analyses for radiological and chemical releases.
• Client Relations & Business Development: support client reviews, expert panels, and NRC audits.
