Job summary

Antares seeks a Structures Engineer II to design, analyze, and develop critical reactor structures, including core restraint and PHX vessel supports. You will ensure performance across development, testing, and operation while collaborating with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing, and procurement teams.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in structural design for demanding applications, hands-on FEA, and experience with ASME/industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Nuclear engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience designing, analyzing and developing structural systems.
• Experience with structural design, hand calculations, material selection, joints, load path, and thermo-mechanical trade studies.
• Experience using finite element analysis (FEA) tools to evaluate structural performance, stress, deformation, fatigue, and thermal loading.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal, mechanical, and structural analyses to support sizing and optimization of reactor structural components.
• Define system architecture, operating limits, design margins, and concepts of operation (CONOPS).
• Develop engineering documentation: calculations, specifications, interface definitions, design reports, and Justifications.
• Lead design, fabrication, and testing of components and systems with test articles, fixtures, instrumentation, and validation procedures.
• Collaborate with reactor, thermal, manufacturing, licensing, and procurement teams for integration.
• Support supplier selection, technical evaluations, design reviews, and issue resolution.
• Present technical work at design reviews and provide technical leadership throughout lifecycle.
