American Electric Power is seeking a Radiation Protection Technician Junior to perform radiological analysis and protect personnel. You will assist engineers, conduct surveys, and help with calibration and shielding installations.

The role requires a HS Diploma or GED with 2+ years in radiation protection, and involves field work at nuclear plant sites with strict safety protocols and NRC limits.

Formación

• HS Diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• At least 2 years in Radiation Protection Technician Junior role.
• Ability to work to NRC exposure limits and train others.

Responsabilidades

• Perform engineering calculations for test results and reports.
• Conduct periodic radiation, contamination and airborne surveys.
• Analyze need for contamination control measures and implement.
• Instruct others in health physics precautions and equipment use.
• Conduct sampling operations and analyses per procedures.
• Operate and calibrate counting instruments and monitoring equipment.
• Prepare inspection and maintenance reports for plant equipment.
