Job summary

Valar Atomics seeks a Production Quality Supervisor to lead daily quality execution on the Torrance production floor. You will supervise Quality Technicians and Inspectors, ensuring traceable, compliant manufacturing of reactor components and fuel-related work.

Collaboration with QA, engineering, and operations is essential to deliver defendable quality on aggressive schedules. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, strong documentation, and proactive risk management in a nuclear manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/engineering education preferred.
• 7+ years of quality execution experience in manufacturing or similarly demanding environments.
• 3+ years of leading production quality personnel or teams.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, travelers, and controlled docs.
• Familiarity with inspection methods, traceability, and quality systems.
• Comfort with extended hours and dynamic production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day floor execution in production quality for reactor component fabrication, assembly, testing, and control.
• Supervise Quality Technicians and Inspectors, ensuring disciplined execution and traceability.
• Coordinate inspections, hold points, and in-process verification across cells and centers.
• Provide quality oversight across materials handling, fabrication, assembly, testing, and final inspection.
• Ensure build records and audit-ready documentation are accurate and retrievable.
• Investigate nonconformances and CAPA, supporting root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement defendable quality solutions on the floor.
• Identify risks and weaknesses before they impact production.
• Mentor floor personnel and establish scalable quality standards.
• Support Operator Verification Certification (OVC) implementation and validation.
