Job summary

Jobtailor in Oak Ridge, TN is seeking a senior process engineering leader to direct the design, analysis, and documentation of nuclear and chemical systems for DOE facilities. You will lead projects from concept through detailed design, review critical calculations, and prepare PFDs, P&IDs, and data sheets in a regulated environment.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Chemical Engineering (ABET) with 15+ years of experience, a PE license, and the ability to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• B.S. Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years in process engineering within industrial, nuclear, or government facilities.
• U.S. Citizenship required; no dual citizenship.
• PE license required and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Experience with regulated environments and quality programs.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level technical leadership in the design, analysis, and documentation of nuclear and chemical process systems.
• Lead and independently execute process engineering design activities.
• Review, approve complex process engineering calculations.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, process equipment specifications and data sheets.
• Apply engineering judgment to resolve regulatory issues and ensure compliance with DOE requirements and nuclear safety.
• Interface with safety, operations, mechanical, electrical, and I&C disciplines.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; support project planning and execution strategies.
• Interface with clients, project management, and stakeholders as a senior technical contributor.
