Job summary

ENERCON Services, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Power Studies Engineer to join a highly specialized power systems team. Roles range from mid-level to principal leadership, offering growth through training and challenging projects across Nuclear, Federal, Energy, and Data Center sectors.

The position supports diverse projects and may be based at ENERCON offices in Naperville, IL or other U.S. locations, with about 10% travel. The team emphasizes problem solving, mentorship, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• MS in a relevant topic of electrical engineering preferred.
• Experience in the nuclear power industry preferred.
• Active PE license or near-term plan to obtain.
• Mid-Level: 3+ years performing electrical studies.
• Senior: 6+ years performing electrical studies.
• Experience with NEC, IEEE, IEC, and NERC codes/standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting technical materials for design decisions.
• Experience with load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection, and dynamics studies.
• Device setpoint development for protection schemes.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Strong Word/Excel skills; excellent writing and communication.
• Experience with scripting (Python/VBA/C++) a plus.
• Travel approx. 10% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Electrical studies & design for small to large power systems across facilities.
• Quality assurance of calculations, models, designs, and data.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers on projects.
