Job summary

Energy Northwest is seeking an Equipment Operator to observe and operate plant systems outside the Control Room, ensuring safety and efficiency while coordinating with Control Room personnel and other plant service groups.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree with nuclear power plant experience or an associate degree with substantial relevant experience, and must be able to serve as part of the Emergency Team and related response crews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years nuclear plant ops or a technical field, or equivalent
• Associate’s degree with 4 years nuclear plant experience
• Five years of nuclear navy experience with prototype school
• High school diploma with 6 years of technical field experience

Responsibilities

• Observes and operates nuclear power plant systems and components safely
• Communicates with the Control Room to maintain awareness of plant conditions and events
• Performs procedure verification, chemical and radiological sampling and analysis, housekeeping, and documentation
• Performs nuclear fuel handling, inspections, and core refueling
• Functions as a member or leader of the plant Emergency Team, Hazardous Materials Response Team, and Fire Brigade
• Works independently on tasks for which qualified
• Performs other tasks as required
