Job summary

TerraPower seeks a Nuclear Power Plant Systems Engineering Manager at the Kemmerer Power Station. The SEM will own and govern the plant’s systems engineering programs, ensuring compliance with NRC, INPO, ANSI/ANS standards, and site policies while protecting workers and the environment.

The role requires leading governance, budgeting, staffing, and integration with operations, maintenance, and startup activities, and providing senior technical input to plant leadership on risk and decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or a related technical field.
• Advanced degree in a relevant technical discipline is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns and governs the nuclear power plant's systems engineering programs, including standards, policies, procedures, resources, staffing models, and regulatory compliance.
• Has approval authority for program standards, major policies, and procedures related to Systems Engineering; can stop or restrict work.
• Ensures full integration of systems engineering requirements into operations, maintenance, design engineering, work planning, and startup activities.
• Provides manager-level technical input to plant leadership on systems engineering in risk, conditions, and operational decisions; coordinates responses for events with preparedness and site response groups.
• Develops and manages budgets and long-range resource plans for systems engineering programs; owns performance monitoring and corrective action programs.

Education
