Job summary

Valar Atomics is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to develop mechanical maintenance work packages and planning processes for the Orangeville pilot plant in Utah. You will define scopes, reference procedures, and ensure readiness across operations, engineering, and safety teams.

You will work with CMMS systems, manage schedules, and help advance DOE-compliant planning practices in a fast-growing energy startup.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-7 years in mechanical maintenance/planning.
• 2+ years nuclear/DOE facility planning preferred.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed work scope definitions for maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Prepare and review work control packages with procedures, drawings and tools.
• Incorporate LOTO, confined space and safety controls into work packages.
• Establish schedule activities, durations and resource needs; provide alternatives when constrained.
• Maintain asset records, PM schedules and work orders in CMMS (eMaint).
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, health physics, EHS and supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with DOE/OSHA and site procedures.
• Develop schedules, spreadsheets, reports and graphics with automated tools.
• Help develop planning templates and standards as Valar scales.
