Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC’s client, WECTEC Staffing Services, seeks a Nuclear Planner Senior for a 1-year contract (W-2) at the Palo, IA site. You will develop work orders and preventive maintenance plans with station personnel to identify, create, and order parts for repair and replacement.

The role covers Mechanical, Civil, Instrument & Control, and Electrical disciplines; welding skills are required. This position offers hourly pay and benefits as part of a comprehensive package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in nuclear environments.
• Nuclear experience: 7+ years.

Responsibilities

• Identify and analyze work order tasks for preventive maintenance and surveillance activities.
• Develops work standards to support work packages.
• Guide junior system planners to develop detailed elements of overall packages.
• Create weld data sheets in accordance with ASME code and NextEra procedural requirements.

About the role: Location: Palo, IA 52324. Per Diem at GSA rates

We are looking for a Nuclear Planner Senior on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. (W-2) You will develop work orders and preventive maintenance plans for implementation. Employees in this role work with station personnel to identify, create, and order parts for repair/replacement activities. This job requires planning for work packages for all types of work including, but not limited to Design Change Work Packages, Preventive Maintenance Work Packages, Corrective Work Packages, and defines the work standards to use for those activities. Discipline of work scope will include Mechanical, Civil, Instrument & Control, and Electrical.

This is a 1-year contract assignment. (W-2)

Positions available: Mechanical maintenance – 1 onsite needs welding skill andI & C Planner (Instrument and control). – 1 onsite

Mechanical maintenance – 1 onsite: person needs welding skills below:

To work in a nuclear plant, you must master specific welding methods.

• GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding/TIG): This is the gold standard. TIG produces highly precise, X-ray quality welds needed for high-pressure pipes.
• SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding/Stick): Used for structural repairs and thick, heavy-duty metals.
• Orbital Welding: A computerized machine does the welding for you. This is used in highly radioactive areas where human hands cannot work for long periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and analyze work order tasks required to implement preventive maintenance, modification, corrective, and surveillance activities
• Develops work standards to support work packages
• Provides guidance to more junior system planners to develop detailed elements of overall packages
• Ability to create work packages for all disciplines, including but not limited to proficiency in generating weld data sheets in accordance with various ASME code and NextEra procedural requirements
