Job summary

Westinghouse in Homestead, FL seeks a Sr. Nuclear Outage Mechanical Planner for a 1-year contract. Responsible for creating comprehensive work packages for maintenance, modifications, and surveillance at nuclear facilities. Requires advanced planning experience and deep knowledge of nuclear systems, with reporting to the onsite Manager.

Location: Homestead, FL. Per diem available. Fluency in ISI, IST, ASME XI, ANI, ANII, and Weld Travelers is desired, with strong regulatory and safety focus

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent 10 years plant experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science.
• Experience: 7+ years nuclear power plant experience with at least 4 years in maintenance planning or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work Package Development & Planning.
• Develop detailed work order task descriptions, including steps, materials, tools, and testing.
• Plan complex maintenance including ASME XI work, ISI/IST programs, and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, specs, and plant procedures.
• Coordinate clearance requirements and equipment isolation strategies with Operations.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during planning to prevent delays.

About the role:

We're looking for a Sr. Nuclear Outage Mechanical Planner on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment.(W-2) The Senior Nuclear Planner is an important technical position responsible for developing comprehensive work packages for maintenance, modifications, and surveillance activities at nuclear power facilities. You should have advanced planning expertise, technical knowledge of nuclear systems, planning initiatives that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant work execution. You will report to the onsite Manager.

Location: Homestead, FL 33035 . Per diem available

Fluent in ISI, IST, ASME Sect XI, ANI, ANII, Weld Travelers

Key Responsibilities:

• Work Package Development & Planning
• Develop detailed work order task descriptions, including step-by-step instructions, material requirements, tool lists, and post-maintenance testing requirements
• Plan complex maintenance activities including ASME Section XI work, ISI/IST programs, and modification packages
• Ensure work packages comply with regulatory requirements, technical specifications, and plant procedures
• Coordinate clearance requirements and equipment isolation strategies with Operations
• Identify and resolve technical issues during the planning phase to prevent field delays

Qualifications:

• Minimum: Associate's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field, or equivalent 10 years plant experience in a technical field.
• Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science
• Experience: Minimum 7+ years of nuclear power plant experience, with at least 4 years in maintenance planning or equivalent technical role
• Demonstrated progression in planning responsibilities and complexity of work assignments
