Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks a Nuclear Pharmacy Technician to support the safe and efficient coordination of Radiopharmaceuticals for acute care hospitals and other facilities. The role requires adherence to strict state and federal guidelines and may involve consultative guidance with physicians and technologists.

The position involves preparing prescriptions, dispensing doses, maintaining records, and delivering materials with company vehicles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, 0-1 years of experience preferred.
• Registration with the State Board of Pharmacy, licensure as a Pharmacy Technician or PTCB preferred
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferred
• Past IV experience is a plus
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
• Minimum of 18 years of age due to driving of company owned vehicle required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Manual dexterity for dispensing doses and handling small objects
• Ability to manage up to 75 pounds
• Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends and holidays
• Intermediate computer skills (computers/tablets)

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining Staff Pharmacist approval
• Draws doses into a syringe or vial
• Performs QA tests on instruments and radiopharmaceuticals
• Receives, documents, and stores pharmaceuticals per DOT and company guidelines
• Maintains computer inventory and records
• Assists with labeling blood cell products
• Keeps facility clean and organized
• Performs clerical and administrative tasks as needed
• Mails/delivers to accounts as required
• Handles customer inquiries via telephone
• Works under close supervision and revisions are approved by supervisor
• Acts in on-call rotations and overtime as needed
