Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Operations Shift Supervisor to lead the Fuel Fabrication & Nuclear Material Management Division. The role is on a 4x10 schedule at the Materials and Fuels Complex, with Fridays off.

You will drive transformative R&D and operational excellence in mission-critical environments, reporting to the Nuclear Facility Manager. Requirements include a BS degree and 2+ years direct operation experience in fuel fabrication or nuclear operations, or 8+ years in

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree; 2+ years direct operation experience in fuel fabrication or nuclear operations, OR 8+ years’ operations experience.
• Must have direct experience leading small groups.
• 2+ years demonstrated leadership experience.
• Operating experience in Fuel Fabrication/Manufacturing & Nuclear Material Management; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities of a broad functional area through non-exempt and exempt specialists, provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
• Manage, train, and motivate staff to meet unit targets and goals, potentially managing more than one shift or department.
• Receive assignments based on incremental objectives and defined processes.
• Monitor and coordinate daily, weekly, or monthly activities, develop operational enhancements and maintain internal control.
• Develop overall goals and long-term plans for the department; ensure quality and compliance; propose policy changes.
• Identify and resolve escalated problems of moderate to large scope; work with subordinate supervisors and peer groups.
